while swimming in isolated waters 300 miles south west of cabo san lucas, mexico, david valencia spotted this thirty five foot female whale shark with a line six inches thick wrapped around her and digging into her skin. given the growth of anemones and gooseneck barnacles on the line, it had clearly been there for a long time. though worried she would swim away, and facing a strong current, his friend, dani, was able to approach her, grab hold of the line, and eventually cut it off.
